Just make sure that you clean it regularly to prevent dust and dirt from accumulating. Stubborn dust and dirt can make cleaning a big problem that is why you should take extra effort to clean it to preserve its beauty and quality.

Follow these tips to maintain the beauty of your wooden floors.

  • Remove the carpet. It is best to remove anything that covers the floor to clean it properly and remove all the unwanted dirt beneath carpets, etc.
  • Sweep the floor. You can use any broom for this. One good thing about this flooring is that it is not very sensitive to scratches, thus you need not worry about the use of any broom. Just ensure that all the dust and dirt and removed thoroughly before you proceed to the next step. If you want to be sure that no dirt is left, you can use a vacuum cleaner to suck up all the dust and dirt on the floor.
  • Use a mixture of vinegar and water to clean the floor. Mix half a cup of vinegar, preferably white vinegar with one gallon of water. The use of vinegar provides better cleaning that just using plain water. Do not use hot water for this. Warm water is enough. Hot water may harm your floor.
  • Mop the floor. Ensure that you mop the entire floor area and concentrate on areas that appear to be dirty. Never soak water into the floor as this may damage the hardwood.
  • Wipe the floors using a mop or a towel and dry it up. Some hardwood does not need drying. Some dry up on their own, however, there are also some that needs to be dried up. Check your flooring and see if it needs assistance in drying or not.

Do this weekly. Cleaning your floors at least once a week helps in the maintenance of its quality and beauty. If you want your floors to look best, take some time to do the clean up. Never mop your floors everyday as this could also harm your flooring. Once weekly is enough to preserve its beauty.
